Troy Andrew Otto, age 61, of Chelsea, MI passed away on February 9th 2026 in his home. Troy was born in Ann Arbor, MI to Vernon and Janet Otto on August 14th, 1964. He went to high school at Chelsea High and graduated in 1983. He worked as a grocery store associate for Polly’s for 20 years. Troy grew up fishing, gardening, antique collecting and even helped build the family cabin in Canada. He will be remembered for his kindness to others, his generous heart and love for all creatures. It seemed that no matter who you were or where you came from, if you met him, you left feeling like you mattered. Truly, everyone who met him loved him. In recent years, he quietly struggled with depression. Though he ultimately lost that battle, his struggle does not define who he was. His life was defined by kindness, love and countless rooms he lit up with his smile. I hope by sharing this, others will be reminded to check in on those they love and to seek support when they need it. Troy is survived by his daughter Samantha Otto of Rockwood, Michigan, his brother Todd Otto and nephew Matthew Otto. He is preceded in death by his mother Janet Otto, father Vernon Otto and brother Scott Otto. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered for the goodness he brought into the world. Troy’s celebration of life will be held at the Creature Conservancy on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 from 11-1pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Rd • Ann Arbor, MI 48105
