Walberg said the programs give students in Michigan’s 5th District a chance to reflect on the country’s history and founding principles.
Opportunities include the Presidential 1776 Award, a national civics competition for high school students offering up to $250,000 in scholarships. Registration closes February 21.
America’s Field Trip invites students in grades 3 through 12 to submit writing or artwork by March 30 on what America means to them.
America’s Startup is a collegiate business competition requiring proposals and pitch videos by March 31.
A Bookmark Design Challenge for K-8 students is also open through March 31.
The office is also accepting entries for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, themed “America 250,” with submissions due March 28.
