WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced a chicken fried rice recall involving more than 3.3 million pounds of frozen products that may contain glass fragments.
The recall affects certain Trader Joe’s Chicken Fried Rice products produced between Sept. 8 and Nov. 17, 2025, with best-by dates ranging from Sept. 8, 2026, through Nov. 17, 2026.
The items were distributed to Trader Joe’s retail locations nationwide, meaning the affected product could have been sold in Michigan, including Lenawee County.
Officials said four consumer complaints prompted the recall. No confirmed injuries have been reported.
Consumers are urged not to eat the product and to either discard it or return it to the place of purchase.
The affected packages bear establishment number P-18356 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
