ADRIAN — Trades educator training scholarships are now available through the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute in Adrian.

The institute is offering fully funded registration for its three-day “How to Teach” trades educator training scheduled for July 28 through 30, 2026.

With support from the National Park Service Historic Preservation Training Center and Preservation Maryland’s Campaign for Historic Trades, scholarships will cover the full $900 tuition. Class size is limited to 20 participants.

The program is designed for instructors, trainers, supervisors, mentors and administrators working in skilled trades. It introduces the Beyond Hands-On teaching model, which focuses on improving engagement and learning outcomes in trades education.

Participants will receive a Beyond Hands-On manual and practical teaching tools for use in workshops, job sites and classroom settings.
