ADRIAN — The Lenawee Historical Society reports renovation progress at its museum in Adrian, with construction now beyond the halfway point.

According to the February 2026 Museum Happenings newsletter, the second floor is complete and the main exhibit floor is about half finished.

Recently completed areas include the Durst room for rotating exhibits and the Heritage and Pioneer room featuring early county artifacts.

The final two spaces under construction are the car room, which houses the Lion and Murray vehicles, and the large exhibit area behind the front desk highlighting the Underground Railroad, train and toy collections. Work in those areas is expected to wrap up within the next few weeks.

Museum officials say exhibit redesigns are already underway, with a focus on improving flow and rotating artifacts from storage onto the exhibit floor.

Construction is expected to conclude in March, with exhibit updates continuing throughout the year.
