Janis Marie Wilson, age 54, of Morenci, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Toledo Hospital.
She was born on December 6, 1971, in Adrian to Charles and Joyce (Lauffer) Horner. Janis attended Morenci Area Schools. In her early years, Janis married Matthew Wilson. Their time together was brief, as Matt passed away in an automobile accident on December 5, 1995.
In her spare time, Janis found joy in searching for rare coins and going fishing.
To cherish her memory, Janis leaves her brothers, Jim (Heather) Sanders, Jerry Horner, and Joey Horner, and her three grandsons, Hagen, Holden, and Hayze Wilson. In addition to her husband and parents, Janis is preceded in death by her son, Kyle Wilson.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home in Morenci on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services for Janis will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 am with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
