ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office expanded the use of surveillance and enforcement technology in 2025, according to its annual report to the Criminal Justice Committee.
The report shows the Sheriff’s Office rolled out FLOCK license plate reader cameras, expanded the use of Axon body and in-car cameras under a new 10-year contract, and deployed new Tasers for deputies.
The Sheriff’s Office also reported increased use of drones, including drone-assisted crash scene processing, which officials say helps document serious crashes more efficiently.
Technology upgrades were implemented across road patrol, jail operations, and central dispatch as part of broader equipment modernization efforts outlined in year-end reports.
The Sheriff’s Office reported the changes were made alongside training, staffing adjustments, and budget planning during the 2025 calendar year.
The Criminal Justice Committee reviewed the annual reports at its February meeting. Additional discussion on goals and objectives for 2026 is expected later this year.
