ADRIAN — The Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee has received national recognition for its youth advocacy work.
The club was named a Champion for Youth by Boys & Girls Clubs of America, placing it in the top 10 percent of clubs nationwide recognized for advocacy impact, creativity, and engagement.
According to the organization, the award reflects a year of sustained efforts by club staff and youth to elevate the needs of young people in Lenawee County. Those efforts included hosting tours for local, state, and federal lawmakers and meeting with legislators in Lansing during the annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Michigan Advocacy Days.
Club leadership says the goal of the advocacy work is to ensure youth needs are consistently prioritized at every level of government, not just during special events.
The Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee serves children and teens across the county through afterschool programs focused on academic success, leadership development, and healthy lifestyles.
