ADRIAN — The Area 29 Regional Basketball Jamboree will take place Saturday, January 31, with Special Olympics athletes competing at two locations in Adrian.

Adrian High School Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools is partnering with Area 29 Hillsdale and Lenawee Special Olympics to host the event, which brings together traditional and unified basketball teams from across the Southeast Border Region for an afternoon focused on competition and inclusion.

Unified basketball games will be held at Springbrook Middle School. The Adrian High School Unified Maples Blue and White teams will face Unified Monroe teams, with tip-offs scheduled for 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Traditional Special Olympics basketball games will be played at Adrian High School, with matchups beginning at 2 p.m. and continuing through 6 p.m. across multiple courts.

Organizers say the jamboree is open to the community and designed to celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship and the athletes taking part.
