KALAMAZOO — The Michigan State Police will host an Employment Day hiring event next month in Kalamazoo for individuals interested in law enforcement careers.

The one-day event is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, beginning at 8 a.m. at Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Texas Township Campus.

The hiring event is designed as a one-stop opportunity for applicants interested in becoming state troopers, motor carrier officers, or lateral entry recruits. All three recruit schools are set to begin in July.

According to the Michigan State Police, licensed police officers are especially encouraged to attend, as the department is offering a lateral entry option for experienced officers.

Attendees will be able to complete several steps of the hiring process on site, including application assistance, baseline fitness testing, the National Testing Network entry-level law enforcement exam, a preliminary criminal history check, and a hiring interview.

Registration is required, and attendance is limited to 300 people.

Folks interested must RSVP here.
