Barbara E. (Gage) Rakoczy, age 75, of Tipton, MI, passed away, January 8, 2026, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home. She was born October 28, 1950, in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Joan R. (Gresh) Gage who preceded her in death in September of 2012. Barbara’s daughter, Donna M. (Rakoczy) Platt preceded her in death in May of 2019. Barbara is survived by her children, Barbara A. Humphrey of Tecumseh, Paul B. Rakoczy of Adrian, and Angela (Brian) Holman of Clinton; six grandchildren, Alex Humphrey, Zachary Humphrey, Ashton Platt, Lucas Holman, Jordan Platt, RaeLyn Holman; and two great grandchildren; Eloise Humphrey and Nicholas Humphrey. Barbara was known for her caring heart, resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. She found joy in the simple moments. time spent with loved ones and the traditions which brought them together. Her presence brought comfort, and her guidance will be remembered always. Loving her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally, they were her everything. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren and took great joy in being a part of their lives. Barbara was her grandchildren’s superfan; from dance recitals to band and choir concerts, Science Olympics to Lacrosse and through every possible weather condition, she proudly supported them from the sidelines. Being present for the movements which mattered most was one of the many ways she showed her love. Her kindness, thoughtfulness and unwavering support created a sense of love that will echo in our hearts forever. She always had a special love for all her cats, and her dog Gideon. They brought her daily companionship and comfort. Caring for them also brought happiness, a similar tenderness she showed to her family and friends. Her legacy of dedication and compassion will continue through all who were honored to know her. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or the Lenawee Humane Society.
