ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Department on Aging is offering a caregiver support group focused on life after caregiving.
The session, titled Rethinking Your Life: Anticipatory and Reality After Your Loved One Is Gone, will take place Monday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at Daybreak Adult Day Services on Erie Street in Adrian.
The group is designed for caregivers who are anticipating loss or adjusting to life after caregiving ends. Organizers say the discussion will focus on grief, identity changes, and emotional transitions connected to caring for a loved one through illness or aging.
The session will be facilitated by licensed professional counselor Kathy Johnston Betzoldt, who will guide the conversation in a supportive and confidential setting.
Respite care is available during the session at Daybreak, but advance arrangements are required.
Caregivers who need respite services are asked to call the Lenawee Department on Aging at 517-266-2588 for more information.
