ADRIAN — Adrian residents affected by the nuisance odor which came from the former Crimson Holdings egg processing facility will soon be able to apply for reimbursement, according to Community Development Director Lisa Hewitt-Cruz.
The City of Adrian has received $50,000 in settlement money from the company, which will be used to cover household repairs for eligible residents.
To qualify for reimbursements, residents must have lived within the boundaries of Main Street, Siena Heights Drive, Treat Highway and US223, and must provide proof of residency, such as a utility bill or driver’s license.
Residences must also submit a valid receipt for household repair expenses incurred during the designated reimbursement period of December 1st, 2022 through January 18th, 2023.
The maximum reimbursement per household will be either $500 or $300, depending on the number of applications.
Application forms will be available at City Hall, and an online submission portal will be opening soon.
Paper checks will be mailed for either type of submission, and direct deposits are available for electronic submissions.
Approved reimbursements will be issued in less than 60 days of submission, although the goal is to process submissions within 30 days or less.
The deadline to apply for the program will be May 1st, 2026, or until all funds are exhausted.
