Bonnie Jean (Bekaert) Slaughter, 71, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, January 23, 2026 at her home in Britton, Michigan after a courageous fifteen-year battle with multiple myeloma. She was grateful that she was able to spend her last days at home surrounded by her family.

Bonnie cared deeply about the well-being of others. Her generosity, determination, and humor were some of her finest qualities. In her work, home, and community life, many were touched by Bonnie’s thoughtfulness, a virtue which she frequently paired with her passion for shopping. She was a hopeful Lions fan, the Scrabble Queen, and a keen euchre player, but her greatest joy came from supporting her grandchildren in their various endeavors. A faithful Catholic, she was an active member of St. Elizabeth Parish in Tecumseh.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Edward Slaughter; a daughter, Amy (Chad) Conrad of Grass Lake; a son, Andrew (Deanne) Slaughter of Shelley, Idaho; four grandchildren, Alexis Conrad, Morgan Conrad, Isaac Slaughter, and Allison Slaughter; and a brother, Bill (Ann) Bekaert of Holly. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Anastasia Bekaert, and her unborn grandchild, Aron Slaughter.

The loss of Bonnie is profound for all who will continue to love her.
