MONROE — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing one of its deputies and a K-9 partner for their work with federal law enforcement.
Sheriff’s officials say eight members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation visited the Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday to present an award to Deputy James Liedel and his K-9 partner, Stretch.
Stretch is an electronic detection device, K-9, trained to assist in specialized investigations.
The award recognizes Deputy Liedel and K-9 Stretch for outstanding service and continued partnership with the FBI over the past several years.
Officials say the recognition highlights the ongoing cooperation between local law enforcement and federal agencies in complex criminal investigations.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office noted the partnership has played a role in enhancing investigative capabilities and public safety across the region.
