Vehicle pursuit ends with arrest in Monroe County

MONROE — A vehicle pursuit that began in Ohio ended Thursday morning with an arrest in Monroe County.

Sheriff Troy Goodnough reports the pursuit started shortly before 11 a.m. when Rossford Police contacted Monroe County Central Dispatch about a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 75 and crossing into Michigan.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Alec Preadmore picked up the pursuit near Laplaisance Road in Monroe Township.

The vehicle continued north on I-75 before exiting at South Huron River Drive in South Rockwood.

The driver later gave up and was taken into custody on Carleton Rockwood Road, west of North Telegraph Road, in Ash Township.

Authorities say the pursuit ended without any injuries or property damage.

The driver is described as a 20-year-old man from Louisville, Kentucky. He was lodged at the Monroe County Jail on charges related to fleeing and eluding.

The driver’s name has not been released.
