TECUMSEH — A snow emergency is in effect for the City of Tecumseh beginning 9 p.m. Saturday, January 24, and continuing through noon Monday, January 26.
City officials say the declaration, issued under City Ordinance Section 78-115, prohibits parking on all public streets and roadways during the snow emergency.
Residents are asked to park vehicles in driveways or designated public parking lots to allow crews to clear streets efficiently.
City officials say the goal is snow removal, not enforcement, but the Tecumseh Police Department may issue tickets to vehicles left on city streets during the emergency period.
Additional information and sign-ups for city email alerts are available at mytecumseh.org, where residents can also register for Lenawee County Code Red notifications.
Questions can be directed to Tecumseh City Hall at 517-423-2107, Monday through Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
