Bradley Delmer Gentry (affectionately known as “Delmer” to his closest friends), age 55, passed away on January 21, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by love for his family, loyalty to friends, and the simple joys that mattered most to him. He was born on October 26, 1970, at Herrick Memorial Hospital in Tecumseh, Michigan, to Delmer and Sandy Gentry.

Brad graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1988 and continued his education at Jackson Community College and Eastern Michigan University. He built a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company at the Rawsonville Plant, from which he retired in October 2024.

In 1996, Brad married Jennifer Landrum. While their relationship was less permanent than expected, together they raised two remarkable boys, Zachary and Jacob, who were the absolute center of Brad’s world. He affectionately called Zachary “Fezzik” and Jacob “Pony Boy,” names that reflected his playful spirit and deep bond with them. Brad spoke often of his sons and was endlessly proud of the young men they became and all they accomplished. Brad and Jennifer remained close throughout his life, a testament to the enduring connection they shared as parents and family.

Brad had a deep love for sports, especially cheering on the Michigan State Spartans. He stayed active for many years, playing basketball and softball in local recreation leagues well into his 40s, affectionately referring to them as the “old man leagues.” He was an avid reader, particularly historical nonfiction, and was a long-time member of the “Stephen King Book of the Month Club”. He often found peace working outside in the yard, and he had a soft spot for stray animals that wandered onto the property. A life-long fan of heavy metal music, Brad especially loved experiencing it live with his friends.

Brad is survived by his sons, Zachary Gentry of Saginaw, Michigan, and Jacob Gentry of South Lyon, Michigan; his former spouse, Jennifer Gentry of Adrian, Michigan; his sisters, Tammy Evans of Adrian, Michigan, and Lisa (Tim) Judy of Pennington Gap, Virginia; his brother, Kevin Gentry of Adrian, Michigan; nephews Josh (Darrian McCoy) Evans and Dustin Evans; nieces Suzanna Evans, Keira Gentry, and Lennon Gentry; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer Gentry and Sandy Gentry; his niece, Sara Gentry-Dorris; and his great-niece, Lilith Avery Dorris.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lenawee Humane Society in memory of Brad.
