
Josephine “Betty” Studnicka, age 94, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at ProMedica Hickman Hospital in Adrian.
Betty was born May 22, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Karafiat) Studnicka. Betty graduated from Britton- Macon school. After 30 years of service at Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti Michigan, she retired in 1984.
Betty enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, woodworking, mowing, and traveling. She honored and enjoyed her Czech heritage, playing the accordion, dancing the polka, playing euchre, and attending many Czech events. She travelled to Czechoslovakia to visit ancestors bringing back many mementos.
Betty was known as a diligent, persistent, and tireless worker. She began working early in life by living on a farm, milking cows, plowing the fields, feeding animals, and various other chores. A strong work ethic remained throughout her life.
She lived at Cambrian Senior Living in Tecumseh during her final four years. There she made friends, welcomed and loved by the staff and residents. They enjoyed her spirit, vim, and vigor. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Cambrian Senior Living for their dedicated and loving care Betty received.
Betty is survived by two siblings, sister Kathryn Karlik of St Johns, brother Bob Studnicka of Milan and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by 9 of her 11 siblings, sisters Frances Studnicka, Pauline Tingley, Mary Beening, Helen Check: brothers Jerry, Joe, John, Jim, Rudy Studnicka.
Cremation has occurred; a Celebration of Life will be held later. Internment will be at Ridgeway Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lenawee Humane Society
