Jeannette M. Kope, age 76, of Montpelier, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Angola, Indiana. She was born in Hudson, MI on October 29, 1949, to the late Clifford and Carolyn (Peltier) Goodlock. Jeannette attended and graduated from Pittsford Schools. On September 14, 1968, she married Ray Douglas Kope in Hudson, and while their marriage ended, they remained friends. She worked at TRW in Fayette as a machine operator for 37 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers.

Always first in her life was her family. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. Jeannette fought hard when it came to her breast cancer. She was clear from cancer for around 20 years when she was again diagnosed with breast cancer. Again, she began fighting hard. She loved being outside any chance she could, whether it be tending to her yard and garden or watching birds. Jeannette loved animals of all kinds but was particularly fond of her cats. Rock and roll and fast cars were two other loves of Jeannette.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ray D. Kope, Jr., Russell C. (Jennifer) Kope, Rhonda (Carl) Cook, and Cindy L. Davis; grandchildren, Andrew, Auston, and Alyssabeth Coressel, Alexander and Lisa Cook, Kahner Hurley, Ray D., III, and Hailee Kope, Erin Grunewald, and Dillion Randall; great-grandchildren, Arlo Coressel, Elowyn Moore, Liam, Dean, and Kohen Cook, Brixton, Sage and Payson Hurley, and Everly and Brinlee Randall; brothers, Clifford (Patty) and Richard Goodlock; and sisters, Sandy Taylor and Sharon (Dennis) Dilyard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana M. Kope; grandchildren, Adren and Aubrea Coressel, Bobby Ray Kope, and Jaden Cook; and a sister, Susan Peltier.

Cremation will take place. The family has planned a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 24, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM, at the Fayette American Legion Hall, 424 S. Fayette St., Fayette, OH 43521.
