TECUMSEH — New test data presented to the Tecumseh Public Schools Board suggests local teachers may be outperforming dual enrollment programs.

During a recent board discussion, administrators reported that students taught in-house by Tecumseh teachers scored 49 points higher on the PSAT than students enrolled in dual enrollment courses.

District officials noted the data while reviewing curriculum outcomes, calling attention to how students are being advised on upper-level coursework. Dual enrollment is often promoted as a higher-level academic option, but the performance gap raised questions about whether it always delivers better results.

Board members discussed whether current counseling guidance should be reviewed and how families are being informed about course options. The data also highlighted the strength of Tecumseh’s in-house instruction and raised broader questions about how academic success is being measured.

No changes were approved, but officials said the issue may return for further review as the district evaluates future curriculum planning.
