ADRIAN — The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration will return to Adrian later this month for its 38th annual event, highlighting service, reflection and community engagement.

The celebration is scheduled for Monday, January 19, at the Adrian College Tobias Center, located at 110 Madison St. Doors open with a meet-and-greet at 12:30 p.m., followed by a luncheon and program beginning at 1 p.m.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Leland Harper, associate professor of philosophy and associate professor of race, justice, and equity studies at Siena Heights University. Organizers say Harper will address the event’s theme, centered on making a meaningful impact through everyday action.

Tickets are $50 per person, with tables of eight available for $350. Checks should be made payable to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee and mailed to PO Box 261 in Adrian.
