John Robert Kolin, 74, of Manitou Beach, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 16, 1951, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to George and Aleatha Kolin, John grew up in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. He often shared warm and fond memories of his childhood there, filled with family, friends, and the simple joys of small-town life. A passionate golfer, John cherished every moment on the course, where he built lasting friendships with his golf buddies—many of whom he considered a second family. John’s deep faith in the Lord was the guiding light of his life and the foundation of his extraordinary generosity. His unwavering belief inspired him to live with an open heart, always ready to help those in need, and his quiet acts of charity touched countless lives in ways large and small. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria; his son, Brian (Anna) Kolin of Toledo, Ohio; his daughter, Lanee (Kasey) Harris of Manitou Beach, Michigan; and his three beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Mallory, and Zak, of whom he was immensely proud. He was preceded in death by his brother, William (Bill), and his parents. In true celebration of John’s lifelong love for the game, a Celebration of Life will be held at one of his favorite golf courses with the arrival of spring’s first tee times.
