Stanley James Senkewitz, age 78 of Brooklyn, Michigan passed away on December 21, 2025, surrounded by family that adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late John “Jack” and Delores Senkewitz of Manchester, Michigan. Born November 7, 1947, he graduated from Clinton High School in 1965. He married his high school sweetheart, Sue, in 1966 and they started on an incredible journey that lasted for 60 years. He retired from Ford Rawsonville in 2001 having spent 35 years in Machine Repair.

Stan had a great sense of humor, often saying he was in pretty good shape for the shape he was in and still always asking Sue if she was ready for another great adventure. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh that would light up any room he was in. He started counting backward at his 50th birthday, so passed away at the youthful age of 22.

He was so proud of his family and they meant everything to him. He instilled strong values in his children and taught them to be brave, to embrace challenges and find joy in every day. He showed them how to live life fully and love deeply.  His kindness, strength, and humility touched not only our family, but all that knew him, and his gentle spirit and warm smile will be missed. He was always there if anyone needed help and could fix almost anything. He had a unique way of always coming up with an answer to solve any problem. He loved his home on the lake and could often be found working in the yard or just sitting on the deck enjoying the sunshine. He shared his passion of the water with his children and grandchildren, spending as much time with them as he could teaching them to swim, fish, or water ski. The times that were most special to him included the family camping trips every year at Sleeping Bear Dunes, fly fishing trips up north with his children and grandchildren, the tradition of our family corn roast and anything he could come up with to spend time with his family. There was no hobby he wouldn’t try – scuba diving, golfing, gardening, wood carving, playing guitar and harmonica, and painting to name only a few. He loved life. He loved his family and they loved him so very much. His newest love was being Pap Pap to his precious great-grandchildren Avery and Aidan, which he couldn’t get enough of.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Sue Senkewitz of Brooklyn, MI; his children David (Vicki) Senkewitz of Colon, MI and Tricia (Mark) Commet of Jackson, MI; grandchildren: Shelbey Senkewitz, Dustin (Rachel) Commet, Courtney (Dylan) Ballard and Tori (Austin) Perkins; great-grandchildren: Avery Commet and Aidan Ballard. He is also survived by two brothers: John Senkewitz of Brooklyn, MI and Brian (Michelle) Senkewitz of Manchester, MI

At the family’s request there will be no service at this time. Stan will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the light he brought to the lives around him. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Schneider and Lindsay at the U of M Oncology Department and also Hospice of Lenawee for their compassion during such a difficult time.
