
MONROE — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is actively recruiting deputy sheriffs, with competitive pay and benefits set for 2026.
The office says starting pay ranges from about $29 to nearly $36 an hour, based on a three-year pay scale, with annual and anniversary increases.
Sheriff’s officials say deputies have access to a wide range of career paths, including road patrol, marine and dive teams, investigations, K-9 handling, school resource officer assignments, and specialized units like SWAT and drug enforcement.
The department also highlights take-home vehicles, body-worn cameras, updated duty weapons, issued cell phones, and year-round training as part of the position.
Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and families, paid leave, a defined benefit retirement plan, and education reimbursement.
