HILLSDALE — A Hillsdale County man has claimed a $6 million top prize from the Michigan Lottery’s Super Raffle game.
The 69-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the winning Super Raffle number in the November 19 drawing. The ticket was purchased at B and T Party Store on East Chicago Road in Somerset Center, about 20 miles south of Jackson.
Lottery officials say the winner recently claimed the prize at Michigan Lottery headquarters. He chose a one-time lump sum payment of about $4.1 million instead of annual payments.
The winner plans to share the money with his children and save the rest.
The Super Raffle game featured the largest raffle payout offered by the Michigan Lottery, including one $6 million prize and two $1 million prizes.
The Michigan Lottery reports that nearly all ticket sales are returned to the state through school aid, prizes, and retailer commissions.
