ADRIAN — U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg addressed the ongoing debate in Congress over the future of Affordable Care Act subsidies and rising insurance costs.
Walberg said House Republicans are weighing whether to allow a temporary federal subsidy to expire or continue funding what he described as a system that is not working as intended. He pointed to concerns about coverage usability, hospital reimbursement, and premium increases, arguing those issues are tied to the structure of the broader healthcare law rather than a single subsidy.
Walberg explained his position this way:

The comments came during Tim Walberg’s monthly update with hosts Larry and Dale Gaertner. He said further healthcare legislation is expected to be considered in the coming months.
