ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Department on Aging is urgently seeking volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to older adults throughout the month of December.

Officials say several longtime volunteers are temporarily unavailable, creating an immediate need to keep hot meals and wellness checks going for homebound seniors during winter weather.

The department stresses that volunteering is flexible and does not require a long-term commitment. Drivers can help once a week, once a month, or whenever their schedule allows. Routes typically take about one hour.

Director Cari Rebottaro said even a single day of volunteering can make a meaningful difference for older adults, especially during the holidays.

No special training is required. New volunteers can ride along with an experienced driver, and friends, couples, or coworkers are welcome to deliver meals together. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Anyone interested in helping is encouraged to contact the Lenawee County Department on Aging at 517-264-5280.
