TECUMSEH — The city of Tecumseh is asking residents and downtown visitors for feedback on proposed design concepts for a future downtown streetscape project.
Design concepts were presented Dec. 3 by representatives of Jones Petrie Rafinski, a South Bend–based design firm, during a public meeting at city hall. The concepts are based on earlier community input gathered through meetings, a workshop, and an online survey.
The proposals explore options such as reworking pedestrian spaces, changes to bike lanes and sidewalks along Chicago Boulevard, traffic-calming features, and potential updates near the Market on Evans.
City officials say the current streetscape is more than 30 years old and needs improvements, including upgrades to drainage, irrigation and electrical infrastructure used during festivals.
Residents can review the concepts and share feedback through an online survey available here. Printed copies are also available at Tecumseh City Hall.
Design feedback will help shape a final streetscape plan moving forward.
