WHITEFORD TWP. — A stolen vehicle recovery in Whiteford Township has led to an arrest and additional felony charges, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Troy Goodnough reports deputies were dispatched just before 2 p.m. to a residence in the 6000 block of Samaria Road after receiving a tip about a wanted fugitive.

Deputies Arthur Parran and James Liedel located the suspect seated in a vehicle and took him into custody without incident. Investigators later determined the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Toledo, Ohio.

Deputies also located additional suspected stolen property inside the vehicle during a follow-up investigation.

The suspect, a 34-year-old Ottawa Lake man, was lodged in the Monroe County Jail on an outstanding felony drug warrant, along with new felony charges including receiving and concealing stolen property. The suspect’s name has not been released.

The case remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau.
