PALMYRA TWP. — Palmyra Township has taken a major step toward upgrading emergency services with the approval of a new fire station.
The Palmyra Township Board has approved construction of a new four-bay fire station, with work expected to begin in 2026. Township officials say the project has been under discussion for several years and was identified as a critical need to support local fire operations.
The new station is intended to improve response capabilities, provide additional space for equipment and vehicles, and better meet the long-term needs of firefighters serving the township.
Township leadership credited collaboration among board members, department leadership, and the building committee in moving the project forward. Officials noted the decision followed years of planning and review to ensure the scope and timing were right for the community.
Preliminary preparations are expected to continue through the winter, with construction anticipated to begin in the spring.
