TECUMSEH — Tecumseh welcomed Santa Claus to town last Friday night during its annual Christmas parade.
More than 50 brightly lit parade entries traveled along Chicago Boulevard as the parade stepped off at 7 p.m. on December 5.
The parade was organized by the city of Tecumseh’s Economic Development Department with support from the Downtown Development Authority and Tecumseh Events, Activities, and Marketing. Planning for the event began in late summer.
This year’s parade theme was “A Walk Down Gingerbread Lane.” Safety rules prohibited candy throwing, requiring candy to be handed out from the curb, and only the official Santa appeared in the parade.
Following the parade, Santa greeted families at the Market on Evans during the evening night market.
Additional Santa appearance dates are posted on Downtown Tecumseh’s website and Facebook page.
