Patricia Ann Hillard, age 86, of Adrian, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian. She was born April 24, 1939, in Adrian, to Merle and Etheal (Hebb) Auten. On September 12, 1959, she married Douglas G. Hillard in Adrian and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2025. Pat had been employed by Midwest Tire/Ramus Auto Parts for 32 years, retiring on December 31, 1999.
Pat’s favorite thing was being together with her family and those she loved. Her sons and their spouses, along with her grandchildren, were the joy of her life. She loved cooking and baking for her family and sitting with them around the table. Pat also enjoyed the many trips she and Doug took with the family, and they both loved nature and spending time camping. Lunches with her sisters and friends, such as Sondra, Linda, Charlotte, and Anita, were also joys in her life. In her free time, she enjoyed games, jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, crossword puzzles, and making greeting cards. She also enjoyed the old hymns, especially attending gospel concerts – her favorite being the Booth Brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Phillip (Sandra) Hillard of Hudson and Brian (Colleen) Hillard of Apopka, FL; five grandchildren, Sarah (Justin), Kyle, Nicholas (Amy), Ayden, and Kelton Hillard; great-granddaughter, Penny Franta; two sisters, Joan Ramus of Brooklyn, MI and Cristie VanValkenburg of Adrian; and sister-in-law, Anita Auten of Onsted, MI. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Auten; brother-in-law, Larry Van Valkenburg; and step-father, Art Roth.
