Marcus V. Rowland, age 71, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away, December 4, 2025, Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. He was born March 1, 1954, in Detroit, MI, the son of Henry & Maxine (Browning) Rowland. On July 31, 1988, he married Barbara Borgert in Monroe, MI, she survives. Marcus served his country in both the U.S Army and U.S. Navy. He retired from The Crown Group in Livonia, MI in 2019. He enjoyed going on drives with his wife and children and walking through Hidden Lakes Gardens and Crosswinds Marsh. “He was wise to treasure the greatest things: joy in the small moments — time with loved ones and being at peace with others. He never pushed an agenda or spoke poorly of others, but offered direction, relating any story back to the Bible. His kindness and steady presence will be cherished and carried on.” In addition to his wife, Barbara Rowland, he is survived by his three daughters, Leona Rowland (Rico Ybarra), Maxine Rowland (Criss Sayre Jr.) and Renee (Sean) Robinson; three granddaughters, Aaliyah Ybarra, Lillian Newsom and Tiana Ybarra; one brother, Daryl Rowland; one sister, Sheila Higgins; two nieces, Sandra Van Belle and Sylvia Kachar; and one nephew, Richard Van Belle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Maxine Rowland; and his step-mother, Pearl Rowland. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, MI, with Military Honors performed by the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard Team.
