Christile “Chris” Ann Whitcher, age 77, of Jerome, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.
She was born on October 5, 1948, in Fremont, Ohio, to Robert and Mary Lou (English) Brown. Chris graduated from Addison High School in 1967. On December 31, 1976, Chris married William Whitcher. Together they shared almost 49 years of marriage.
Chris was a devoted member of Somerset Center United Methodist Church. Her passion for baking was well known, especially her pies, and she proudly earned a blue ribbon at the fair for her apple pie. Her love for the outdoors was evident in the time she spent tending to her garden and flower beds. One of her favorite traditions each year was dragging her son and grandchildren to the Civil War Muster.
Animals held a special place in Chris’s heart. Taking care of her snapping turtle, Raphael, was a priority and she cherished the companionship of her cats.
To cherish her memory, Chris leaves her loving husband, William; two daughters, Holly (Rich) Sears of Oregon and Heidi (Brian) Whitcher Cowley of Jerome; a son, Will (Amanda) Whitcher of Saline; two granddaughters, Megan and Maddie Sears of Oregon; a grandson, Colby Cowley of Jackson; and a sister, Cathi Hyder. Chris is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Brown.
