BLISSFIELD — The Lenawee County Veterans Affairs office is inviting the public to take part in this year’s Wreaths Across America ceremony in Blissfield.
The annual event will be held Saturday, December 13 at noon at Pleasant View Cemetery on High Street at U.S. 223. Blissfield is marking its eighth year of participation in the nationwide program.
Wreaths Across America coordinates ceremonies at more than 4,900 locations across the country and overseas to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans. Local volunteers raise funds throughout the year to sponsor wreaths for veterans’ graves.
Pleasant View Cemetery, along with Spiegle and Crane cemeteries, is the resting place of about 570 veterans. Volunteers will place a wreath at each headstone as part of the remembrance effort.
The public is encouraged to attend and participate in the ceremony.
