TECUMSEH — The Tecumseh Service Club is rallying the community to help families in need experience a brighter holiday season.
President Colleen Sunderland says the club’s goal is to make sure each child has a special Christmas, with sponsors providing pajamas, clothing, and at least one toy. Gifts must be dropped off on Thursday, December 18th, at Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
Volunteers will also assemble food boxes containing a turkey, cooking essentials, and household items. Assistance applications are being accepted through December 5th at tecumsehserviceclub.com.
Since 1932, the club has helped families in Tecumseh, Clinton, Britton, and Tipton, partnering with community organizations and Toys for Tots for donations.
They also support senior citizens with gift cards and collect canned goods through December 17th.
Sunderland says the generosity from the community has been “incredible.”
Monetary donations are accepted year-round by mail at P.O. Box 375, Tecumseh.
