
LANSING — State Representative Nancy Jenkins-Arno says lawmakers made progress on government accountability before the holiday recess.
Jenkins-Arno explains the Legislature approved a change requiring all future grant requests to be publicly disclosed before any funding decisions are made.
She says the new state law mandates every legislator to complete a formal submission identifying who is requesting the money and what it will be used for. That information must now be posted online 45 days in advance.
