ADRIAN — Adrian is rolling into the holiday season with a brand-new twist on a tradition.
The City’s annual Christmas Parade is set for Friday, December 5th, kicking off at the Lenawee County Judicial Building at 5 p.m., with the parade stepping off at 6 sharp. The route will look a little different this year; floats will travel down Main Street, loop by Church Street, and return to the courthouse using Winter Street instead of ending at Comstock Park.
City leaders say it’s all about improving traffic flow and giving families more time for magic. Because the magic really begins once the lights go down.
At Comstock Park, entertainment takes over the stage beginning at 7:15 p.m., with music, holiday performances, and a countdown screen glowing with anticipation.
And then, at 8:00 p.m., the Comstock Christmas Riverwalk Trees will light up the night, followed immediately by the return of the one and only Santa Claus, greeting families and taking photos in the gazebo.
It’s also a First Friday Winter Wonderland Downtown, starting at 5 p.m., featuring extended hours and specials at local shops and restaurants, festive activities, and new this year: live mini horses strolling Main Street for photos and holiday cheer.
The city is thanking Jim Berryman for creating the Riverwalk tradition, along with city staff, sponsors, and Adrian residents, for helping make the holidays shine brighter every year.
