IDA — Christmas in Ida kicks off the 2025 festival season with two cultural events on Thursday, December 4, beginning with the Annual Holiday Art on the Avenue and followed by an evening concert featuring Siberian Solstice. Both events will take place at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. The Christmas in Ida celebration brings together visual and musical arts to open a weekend of scheduled festivities.
The Annual Holiday Art on the Avenue, presented by Family Medical Centers of Michigan, begins at 6 p.m. Professional and amateur artists will present their interpretation of a Christmas scene on canvas designed to appear animated. The display continues through Saturday, with additional showings during scheduled festival concerts and a downtown exhibition tent.
Visitors may view the artwork on Thursday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the church and at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Partner Tent on Lewis Avenue across from the Ida Fire Station. Guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece, and the artist receiving the most votes will receive a bonus cash prize. A children’s activity area will allow young participants to make and decorate small ornaments.
Following the art opening, the festival will feature “T’was the Night Before Christmas in Ida – A Unique Evening of Trans-Siberian Music,” starring Siberian Solstice at 7 p.m. The concert is free to the public and will showcase a live performance inspired by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The ensemble includes ten performers supported by technical staff and features rock elements, orchestral arrangements, electronic instrumentation, and choreographed light and sound displays.
Holiday Art on the Avenue continues touring the festival after Thursday’s program. Sponsorships remain available. For more information, contact Christmas in Ida Festival Executive Director Dale Zorn at 734-735-0576 or by email at dwz@d-pcomm.net.
The selected events mark the opening of Christmas in Ida and lead into additional scheduled festivities throughout the weekend.
