LANSING — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has directed its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program vendor to resume issuing full November payments to Michigan residents.

Households that normally receive benefits on the ninth of the month should see full payments within 48 hours. All others will receive benefits on their regularly scheduled dates.

MDHHS Director Elizabeth Hertel said the department is glad to restore assistance for families affected by last week’s federal order that temporarily blocked payments.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer also announced $4.5 million in state funding to the Food Bank Council of Michigan to help provide food delivery and support.

SNAP recipients can check benefit updates through MI Bridges or contact their local MDHHS office.
