COLDWATER — Coldwater resident Rod Fikel has been recognized as Veteran of the Month for November by Congressman Tim Walberg.
Fikel served in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1996 as a Combat Documentation Specialist, with deployments to Kuwait and Iraq.
Following his military service, he became an active member of the American Legion and the Branch County Department of Veterans Affairs’ community committee, supporting fellow veterans across the region.
Walberg’s office presented Fikel with a Congressional Record honoring his dedication and community leadership. The congressman described Fikel as “a cornerstone of the veteran community,” who continues to inspire others through perseverance and service.
The Veteran of the Month program highlights exemplary veterans in Michigan’s 5th Congressional District. Nominations are open through Congressman Walberg’s office.
