LENAWEE CO. Lenawee County celebrated community leadership, service, and renewal this week — with recognitions, new developments, and milestones across the region.

Graduates of the county’s Sobriety Court program were honored for completing months of intensive recovery, counseling, and accountability work. The program continues to help participants rebuild stable, self-sustaining lives in recovery.

The Catherine Cobb Safe House marked the tenth anniversary of its Everyday Heroes Awards, honoring 15 individuals and organizations for their compassion, courage, and commitment to community service. Proceeds from the event support local domestic violence and sexual assault programs.

Meanwhile, the Lenawee Community Foundation is accepting nominations for its annual leadership awards through December 15th, and Blissfield’s John “Dick” Saxton has been named Michigan’s 2025 Older Adult Volunteer of the Year.

Across the county, local projects are also moving forward — including the new Library Square Playground and a downtown mural in Adrian, along with Tecumseh’s plans to revitalize Elliott Park. Together, these efforts highlight the county’s continued focus on recovery, service, and community renewal.
