ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs is teaming up with the Veterans Community Action Teams to help local veterans this Thanksgiving.

Veterans and their families in need can receive a free Thanksgiving food basket filled with turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, vegetables, and all the fixings for a holiday meal at home.

Baskets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be handed out on Tuesday, November 25, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 97 in Adrian.

Veterans must RSVP by Tuesday, November 11 to reserve a basket.

To sign up, email tcrockett@caajlh.org, text 517-759-0118, or contact the Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs at 1040 South Winter Street in Adrian.

This effort aims to make the holiday a little brighter for those who have served.
