ADRIAN — The Adrian Dominican Sisters welcomed two new Associates this week in a special ceremony at Holy Rosary Chapel in Adrian.

The new Associates are Susan Lanstra and Timothy Goyette.

Associates are lay people who choose to support the mission and ministries of the Adrian Dominican Sisters without taking vows. Both new Associates first connected with the Sisters through the St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center in Flint, where they have been working with programs that help people with food, jobs, literacy and health needs.

Goyette works in his family’s business in Flint and helps men in the Center’s job program. Lanstra works at Hurley Hospital in Flint helping low-income patients and is studying for a master’s degree in social work.

At the close of the ceremony, both signed commitment papers, received an Associate pin and candle, and joined more than 180 Associates across the country.
