TECUMSEH — The City of Tecumseh will start replacing all water meters in homes and businesses in mid-November.

This is a citywide, mandatory upgrade to the water system. About 4,385 meters will be replaced. VEPO, a third-party contractor, will schedule all appointments and install the new meters. After you set a time, residents will receive details about the service technician.

All workers will be in uniform, will drive signed vehicles, and will have company badges. Workers will also document the job, record the pipe material, and capture the location for city records.

The whole project is expected to take 6 to 12 months depending on scheduling.

Letters will be mailed starting mid-November to set up appointments. City staff will also post updates on the city website and social media.
