Gail Sharon Elliott, age 71, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born on May 18, 1954, in Tecumseh, MI, the daughter of the late Robert and Selma (Kohler) Kennedy.

Gail was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, MI. She married her loving husband of 46 years, Randy Elliott, and he survives. Gail graduated college with a master’s degree and worked as a speech and language pathologist for the Lenawee Intermediate School District. After 36 years of a job she loved, Gail retired and continued to serve as an educator in the community. Gail was a dedicated volunteer for many causes and she especially loved giving her time to the Learning Cove as a reading coach and tutor for second graders. She had a therapy dog named “Mugsy” who accompanied her when she visited local schools and assisted living facilities, and Mugsy even went with her to the University of Michigan during exam week. Gail loved being social. She enjoyed being involved in many activities, including sewing, quilting, woodworking, and book club. She loved the outdoors, working in her garden, kayaking, going to the beach, traveling with friends and family, or playing a round of golf.

In addition to her husband, Randy, Gail is survived by her children, Erin (Chris) Jasinski of Grand Rapids, MI, Sara (Josh) Zilinskas of Kissimmee, FL, and Brian (Nichole) Elliott of Stockbridge, MI; her grandchildren, Haylee, Kennedy and Lucas Jasinski, Charlee and Hunter Zilinskas, and Madelynn Vercelli; her mother-in-law, Nancy Roberts of Tecumseh, MI; her brothers, John Kennedy of Tecumseh, MI, and Michael (Susan) Kennedy of Ludington, MI; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law Marcia Kennedy.

At her request, cremation has taken place. The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Learning Cove or Therapaws of Michigan.
