Robert “Bob” C. Routley, age 94, of Manitou Beach passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. He was born on October 2, 1931, in Melvindale, MI to Charles and Stella (Brush) Routley. On September 22, 1951, Bob married Phyllis A. Spickard in Allen Park. They shared over 67 wonderful years together before her passing on February 24, 2019.
Shortly after their marriage, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company as a stock handler, retiring in 1994. When he wasn’t working, Bob enjoyed golfing, hunting, collecting Cushman Trucksters, and whittling.
To cherish his memory, Bob leaves two sons, David Routley and Robert (Brenda) Routley; a daughter, Mary (Ed) Chestney; brother, Jack Routley; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents; grandson, Robby; brother, Sydney; daughter-in-law, Sheila.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private burial at Green’s Lakeside Cemetery.
