Patsy R. Phillips, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital Trinity Health in Ypsilanti, MI with her family by her side. Born on November 30, 1943, in Lexington, Tennessee, to Orval A. and Mary (Ruth) Henderson, Patsy lived a life full of love, laughter, and late nights spent doing what she enjoyed most—being surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Henderson, and her beloved husband of 65 years, Kenny Phillips. Patsy is survived by her son, Ken Phillips; her daughters, Dana (Bob) Phillips and Rhonda Phillips; sisters Tina (David) Means and Kathy (Randy) Blankenship; grandchildren Jessica (Nick) King, Heather Maynard, Nickolas Graham, and Kayla (Jose) Orozco; and great-grandchildren Analee and Brooks. She was a devoted mom and Nan who loved her family deeply and made sure they always knew how much they meant to her. Patsy was a lifelong Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan who cheered on her teams through every season. A true night owl, who could outlast anyone at the card table. She never missed a card game, and if you were lucky enough to play with her, you knew it wasn’t just about the cards—it was about the stories, the laughter, and the memories made around that table. She never met a scratch-off she didn’t like and always held out hope that the next one would be “the big winner.” She also loved bingo and spent many happy years bowling with friends. And of course, no family gathering was complete without her famous potato salad and cornbread dressing, which will be dearly missed at our family table. While our hearts ache at the loss of her presence, we take comfort knowing that Patsy is now reunited with Kenny—the love of her life. Together again after 65 beautiful years of marriage, we know they’re smiling down on us, probably with a deck of cards in hand. Patsy will forever be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and her welcoming spirit. Her laughter will echo in our memories, her recipes will live on through us, and her love will continue to surround her family always. Cremation will take place.
