ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners has confirmed an appointment to the Board of County Canvassers.

Following nominations by the local party committees, Chari Cure, a Republican, was appointed to serve a four-year term expiring in November 2029.

County Commissioners voted by paper ballot during this week’s full board meeting, and the nominee was officially approved.

Edit:

Roxanne Holloway noted that if the county board does not appoint one of the party-submitted nominees within 10 days of the annual meeting, the seat is considered vacant and will then be filled under MCL 168.24d.

The County Clerk’s Office will be working with the local Democratic Party to make the appointment and fill the vacancy.
